Les Paul Experience: The Wizard of Waukesha Exhibit

Les Paul Experience Hotel

Getting to the heart of the personality, character and creativity of the legendary inventor and musician, a new exhibit, Les Paul: The Wizard of Waukesha is now open in Les’ hometown at the Waukesha County Museum. Rare guitars and priceless artifacts are used to tell the inspiring story of the kid from Waukesha who put a dent-in-the-universe by inventing the Gibson solid body electric guitar and sound-on-sound recording. The exhibit chronicles Les’ life as a young boy through his years of fame. Activities for children include the newly opened Les Paul Sound Lab — an interactive exhibit ideal for children of all ages to experiment with the fundamentals of sound with 10 fun projects, including the space phone and palm pipes! Free with museum admission. And . . . while exploring the Les Paul exhibit; visitors can go on the “Chasing Sound” scavenger hunt! Follow the treasure map to find clues about Les Paul’s life, and if you can solve the puzzle and figure out the secret message, you will receive a special prize! Ask for a free copy of the “Chasing Sound” scavenger hunt at our welcome booth.
